Key Switch is in the “OFF” position. Turn key to “HAND” or “AUTO” position.
Transformer fuse is blown or burnt. Check for short circuit. Replace blown fuse.
Motor overload tripped. Check motor overload dial setting. Push in reset button.
Very low voltage or incorrect supplied voltage. Check motor nameplate (Motor Wiring vs. Line Voltage.)
Bad safety gate/door switch or safety gate/door switch is not adjusted properly. Check switch adjustment and replace switch if bad.

Motor Starts, but Platen Fails to Move. Motor is rotating in the wrong direction. Check the motor rotation arrow. Reverse rotation if necessary.
Low or no hydraulic system pressure. Check oil level and main relief valve setting.
Dirt or obstruction in hydraulic system and/or hydraulic oil. Clean hydraulic system. Install new hydraulic oil.
No power to directional valve coils. Check for 120 volt AC at the terminal blocks.
Directional valve coil bad. Replace the complete directional valve.
Bad safety gate/door switch or safety gate/door switch is not adjusted properly. (LS2)
Check switch adjustment and replace switch if bad. (LS2)

Power unit keeps running in the fully retracted position. Retract limit switch bad or out of adjustment. (LS1) Replace or re-adjust limit switch. (LS1)

Power unit keeps running in the fully extended position. Cylinder stroke timer bad or out of adjustment. (TR) Replace or re-adjust timer switch. (TR)

Bales are loose when compacted. Low or no hydraulic system pressure. Check oil level and main relief valve setting.

Platen moves very slowly. Bad or internally leaking hydraulic pump. Test pump and replace if needed.

Platen drifts down with power. Bad or internally leaking hydraulic cylinder. Test cylinder and replace if needed.
